Monday cooking

Every Monday, we cook hot, tasty, and nutritious meals for people in need. We always involve our clients who are looking for work but are unsuccessful in job interviews due to a lack of work habits in the cooking process. This motivates them to change, makes them feel responsible for the results of their work, and shows them that they belong somewhere.

This service is carried out in cooperation with the city district of Petržalka. Thanks to their support, we have access to high-quality ingredients, from which we prepare 80 to 100 portions of nutritious meals every week. The service, however, is not only about cooking; it is above all a great opportunity to build trust with people who may need our help but are not yet in contact with us.

Our guests have the opportunity each week to vote for the next meal and choose from among their favorite recipes. More than once we’ve heard them say, “This is the first time I’ve eaten this since I was a child.” Taking part in the decision-making matters to them, because it creates a sense of dignity and belonging. We also believe that humanity begins at the table. Through quality meals, we show that we care not only about survival, but about the real quality of life of the people we serve.
